Problem importing dwg-files
« on: October 26, 2021, 07:05:24 am »

Hello,

i have a problem with the result of some imported dwg-files in PyroSim.
In AutoCAD the original dwg-files look good, especially the curved obejcts (screenshot 1 - top view). After imported the dwg-file the objects are displayed choppy/non circular (screenshot 2).
I imported lines and faces. To capture the problem, i changed the import settings (nomal tolerance [from 15° to 1°] and NURB gridlines [from 5 to 50], together and individual) but it had no effect.

Further information: I had to change the origin in the original dwg-file (was far away from 0,0,0) and deleted some not needed objects and layers in AutoCAD. By importing the original dwg-file, the objects were displayed choppy/non circular too.

Do you have any idea how to solve this importing problem?

Thank you for helping me.
Simon

Hello,
Flatten your file.dwg to the same level, for example 0m.

Did you import the version of CAD file after moving the geometry closer to the origin and confirm in PyroSim that the geometry is close to 0,0,0 there too?

Thank you Bryan and ol for your replys!

I solved the import-problem in a other way, by checking the *.dwg-file to unresolved block references. I found a lot of them and unresolved everything i found. After that it was no problem any more to import the curved objects.
