Visibility Threshold for tenability assesment

For manually coupling FDS results with Pathfinder to introduce the speed reduction factor (https://support.thunderheadeng.com/tutorials/pathfinder/manually-coupling-fds/) it is also mentioned in the Summary section that a user can choose to completely prevent entry to a room by closing doors as an alternate way for incorporating the effects of visibility in movement. But no value of visibility is prescribed as critical or threshold at/below which the doors are to be closed. Is there any particular value for this or any reference works/studies that can guide us through this problem?

There is not a specific threshold, this would be up to engineering judgement.

There is a newer feature in Pathfinder to have agent automatically slow down in smoke.

They will not avoid smoke yet, and doors won't close to prevent movement through a smoke filled room.
