Hi,

why thickness value is given while making layered type of surfaces.

It affects the surface properties such as heat transfer. For example if you model a tunnel you dont have to actually build semi-infinite walls, you can instead just put a thickness that would represent semi-infinite rock.

If I make a plastic door with length of say 1m, thickness of 0.05m and height of 2m. what should be my layer thickness 1m or 0.05m or 2m for the plastic surface.

If the thickness is know, in this case 5 cm, then put that as an input.
