Optical Density vs Extinction Coefficient
« on: June 01, 2018, 10:47:51 am »

There is a device for Measuring optical density in Pyrosim. In many papers, such as the Human behaviour in smoke by Jin, the smoke density is expressed in terms of "Extinction Coefficient".  Both have the same unit (1/m).
My question is, can the value of optical density found from the device in pyrosim be used as Extinction coefficient?
