behvioural model and Fire data
« on: January 19, 2009, 06:16:20 am »

Hi all
I want to start a test with Pathfinder. Before i do so, i would like to know if Pathfinder has a behvioural model.
Secondly i would like to know if one can by some means couple/model the smoke and fire data and the interaction of humans with smoke and fire obstructions.
Thanks
Rehan

For the most part, the current version of Pathfinder just has people move toward their chosen exits.  It can do counter flow, and the movement itself is controlled by something called "steering behaviors", but we haven't added what you would think of as high-level behavior (family grouping, leader following, etc).  We wanted to get movement right before we started piling additional AI on top of it.

Along the same lines, we don't currently have any integration with fire simulation results.  But you can import FDS and PSM (in the version coming out this week) files.

We're on the verge of releasing a huge improvement from the last beta.  We were going to have it out on 1/16, but testing revealed a few problems we wanted to address.  It should be out in the next couple days.
