Hi everybody,

I was wondering if anybody has modelled high volume low speed (HVLS) ceiling fans in Pyrosim before. I have a warehouse project which has 12 HVLS fans 24 feet in size. The fans automatically shut down on fire trip.

I am aware that the time to fire trip will be small due to the Very Early Smoke Detection Aspirator system (VESDA) installed, however the fans will still oscillate and consequently disperse smoke around the warehouse. Therefore I would like to see to what impact the fans have on the model.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Alexandra

You could input a fan with an area equivalent to the area of the fan with the known volume of air movement.. this won't be perfect but it should be close.
