OpenMP environment / Missing information in the manual
« on: April 11, 2017, 12:54:36 am »

Hi,

Its seems like the current version of Pyrosim (2017.1.0209) has more variables in the "OpenMP environment" settings then in the manual.

When I open the "OpenMP environment" settings in Pyrosim I can set the following:
OpenMP Threads
OpenMP Threads MPI
OpenMP Stack

The local and the online manual located http://www.thunderheadeng.net/pyrosim/docs/PyroSimManual.pdf do not show or desribce the options "OpenMP Threads MPI" and I'm not 100 % sure what I should do about it?

My simulation has 12 mesh and will be run on a computer with 24 logical cores (2 x E5-2687W v4).

Best regards
Rolf

Hello Rolf,

I agree with you.  The manual does not cover 'OpenMP Threads MPI' option.  Also, it says max 'OpenMP Stack' suggested by NIST is 200 MB.  Does it mean 200 MB per MPI?  What if someone has a PC with a very large RAM e.g. 64 GB.  How can the 'OpenMP Stack' memory be optimized  in that case?
