Block obstruction via wall obstructions
« on: October 05, 2016, 01:51:01 am »

Hi everybody,
I have a question. What is the right way to build a tunnel : a) block obstruction with a hole within, or b) 4 wall obstructions building a tunnel?
How fds treats each case?

Thanks a lot in advance

FDS treats them the same.  I would recommend making 4 walls, ceiling, and floor.  If you don't care about the material properties of the wall (i.e. you are going to make them adiabatic) then don't bother with walls and just make the mesh boundaries at your wall locations.
