Elevators opening on different sides
« on: March 14, 2016, 09:42:07 am »

With the current model of elevators, I have been limited by the way the elevators are created:
1. elevator stops are defined by floors in the list, so when there are intermediate floors, these floors have to be created in the list of floors. If not there is an error messages indicating that the elevators has too many stops by floors. A mezzanine is part of a floor and the list of floor is more practical with a mezzanine component in its floor list. This is not a major issue but the user has to think about this issue when defining the list of floors when his/her project includes the use of elevators.
2. elevators open on the same side, at each floor. For some real applications, elevators are able to open on different sides.

Are you going to develop in the near future an elevator that is able to open on different sides?
Thank you

When an elevator stops at a floor, all doors that are enabled at that level will open.  If you have 2 doors, one on each side of the elevator when you create it, they will both open and close together.  You can click a door at a given floor and disable it if you do not want the second door to open on that side of the elevator for that level.

Please see the linked file for a demonstration of this feature.
