Can't get the burner to work
« on: February 09, 2016, 09:45:13 am »

Hello pyrosim-forum!

I got a problem with my simulation. I can't get the burner to work, it doesn't produce smoke or get hot.. Does anyone have a clue what it could be? I've attached the .fds file.

Thanks in advance.

You have the background mass fraction of CO2 set to 2.5.  FDS normalizes this to 1 and you have no oxygen anywhere.  I'm surprised we don't throw an error on this.  I would think Pyrosim would too.

Seems like that fixed the problem. Didn't think that setting would stay as I made it for the non-active reaction. Thanks a lot, saved me some hair haha.

Good idea. I just checked in changes to PyroSim that make it issue an error when entering a species initial mass fraction outside the range [0...1].
