Applying SURF_IDS to a set of DWG elements
« on: February 05, 2016, 02:27:14 pm »

I've imported a DWG file into Pyrosim and would like to apply a SUPPLY VENT to one of the surfaces.  I can't seem to find an example in the guide that discusses the easiest way to make the THICKENED obstructions use SURF_IDS, applying the SUPPLY to only the top surface of the OBST in the FDS input file.

I've also tried to turn the set of elements into an obstruction, but there are hundreds, and they are grouped in a way that makes it hard to me to understand how to apply SUPPLY vent only to one side.

This seems like it would be a pretty common procedure with Pyrosim, so I apologize if I am missing something obvious.  Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, I figured it out.  Here's what I did:

1. Right-click and Convert to Blocks.

2. On Grouping, click Create an object for each block.

3. Now Right-click the Group, select Properties, and click Surfaces tab, there are now only 6 to deal with and you can set whatever SURF you want.
