How to disable HVAC elements
« on: April 10, 2015, 07:12:16 am »

I have a number of simple HVAC ducts consisting of two vents, two nodes and a duct between them. I want to disable some depending on which scenarios I'm creating FDS files for. However, whenever I try to disable them I get the error message; "The selected object is in use". I'm only able to disable the duct, not the nodes or the vents. I doesn't seem to help to disable all at once, or one item at a time.

I can of course go into the FDS file and comment out the lines I don't want, but this is tedious.

How do I disable a node-duct system without getting the "object in use" error?

I set up some HVAC elements and experimented with disabling. It looks like a bug to me. Looks like the vents and nodes are creating a dependency cycle that is tricking our "in use" checker. I've added it to our issue tracker. Thank you for letting us know.

Update: this issue has been fixed internally and the fix will be available in the next PyroSim release.
