Hi Guys,

I have downloaded the FDS examples for ethanol and n-hexane pool fires and imported them into Pyrosim, however when I try to run FDS it shows that there is a problem with the material (ethanol & n-hexane), has anyone come across this problem and how was it resolved?

John,

Can you give us any more information about what you're trying to do? What you're describing sounds like a bug that was fixed when the second beta (2013.1.1126) was released.

If you are using the initial beta release (2013.1.1122) this bug will still exist. Likewise, if you saved a file in 2013.1.1122 and then opened the file in 2013.1.1126, the bug will still exist.

Please check the version you are using and let us know. If you've already gone through the troubleshooting to make sure that what I described is not the case, include a link to the specific FDS example you are trying to run.

Hi,
I'm trying to run the n heptane example from the Pool Fire examples as linked in the Pyrosim Example Guide, I'm using Pyrosim VERSION 5, under a student licence.
The code I downloaded is shown below, it may be something I'm doing wrong.
The purpose of this work is to model a experimental study which used n-heptane as the fuel.

John,

I saved a copy of your file and tried running it with the FDS5 executable included in PyroSim 2012. It appears to not run in FDS5 at all. Some of the FDS example files are somewhat outdated. Looking at the code, it appears that it may have even been an example for FDS6 (it does run as expected when using the PyroSim 2013 beta). Hope that helps!
