Pathfinder 2013.1.0730 (Beta)
« on: July 30, 2013, 09:20:01 am »

Pathfinder 2013 is now available for beta testing. This version gives the user more control over simulation geometry and movement (e.g. one way doors, door flow rate limits in steering mode),  occupant-specific output data, better 3D results performance, and more.

For more information, see the release note:

Hi,

I've been trying the beta version for a while and would like to give a few comments.
First of all I would like to say that I really like that the new version gives the user more control over movement. I really appreciate that.

One problem that I discovered in this version, as well as the earlier versions, is that occupants seems to get stuck which leads to unreasonably high evacuation times. I don't know the reason for it, but it could have something to do with the large amount of people in combination with the assigned behaviours to the occupants in order to navigate them to specific exists.

I've attached a print screen from the 3D-result from a simulation where the occupants got stuck.

Kind regards,

Sofia

Thanks! It's not obvious to me why they are getting stuck in the image you sent. Do they clump up in the intersections?

It's very helpful for us to have the model to work from if people are getting stuck. Are you able to send your model to support@thunderheadeng.com?

Transparent function of the model (room)is very useful in The Modeling Process?Especially in the use of DWG Dxf or Jpg graphical modeling. But, this function was Canceled After 2011 edition. When this feature can be added again?

kowkwei, I've attached an image that demonstrates how to edit the opacity (i.e. transparency) of an object or group of objects in the model. The image demonstrates how transparency for imported geometry and the same approach works for the navigation mesh.
