Display Texture
« on: May 14, 2013, 07:05:59 am »

Dear all,

I'm using PathFinder importing an fds file in which I defines the following surface:

&SURF ID='Pine',
      TEXTURE_MAP='psm_spruce.jpg',
      TEXTURE_WIDTH=1,
      TEXTURE_HEIGHT=3.5/

and the following object:

&OBST XB=1.3,5.0,0.0,0.9,0.0,1.0, SURF_ID='Pine'/ desk

However, when I import the fds file in PathFinder I are not able to see the texture.
Where am I being wrong?
Regards

Ruggiero

ps I have try to push the "show textures" button but the texture is not yet visible

Unfortunately, Pathfinder does not yet support textures.

It used to have a back door where you could edit the PFR file and change:

ImportedGeomFile=mymodel.geom

to

ImportedGeomFile=mymodel.ge1

...and then PyroSim's GE1 file would be displayed as the scene geometry with textures. Unfortunately, I just tested this and the hack no longer appears to work. I haven't dug into the details though and your mileage may vary.

Bad news!

I need to use the texture to make objects / obstacles more realistic.
I hope that in future versions of Patfinder there will be this possibility!
