Error: importing DFX
« on: July 13, 2012, 12:49:14 am »

Hi all, I'm trying to import a DFX file however Pyrosim gives an error (see attached).
Objects in DFX have been exploded so it shoud work okay.

Anyone encountered this problem before?

If you are using PyroSim 2012, you no longer need to export to DXF. In fact, importing the DWG will usually work better because there is more information in the DWG (e.g. we know to make walls solid objects).

I am successful with importing DXF files under PyroSim 2011, but the same import under 2012 version results in a flat image.

When we shifted to the Teigha library in PyroSim 2012, we actually stopped generating background images. Maybe the geometry is being flattened somehow. Are you able to share your model (here or with support@thunderheadeng.com)?

Thanks for all the replies.
As recommended, DWG works better - its file size is a lot smaller than DXF.
