Simulation running not stopping!
« on: March 22, 2012, 05:54:25 am »

Hi,

I'm new to the software and using it in my dissertation. I simulated a floor plan of a building and added the rooms and exits, and also the occupants, yet when i ran the simulation, it didn't stop and i'm close to 90000+ seconds.

Is there a way someone can skype me to look where i made a mistake, as i have limited time to submite the results.

Thank you,

Haitham

One of the ways a simulation can go wrong is an occupant can just wiggle back and forth forever. This is usually the case when you get extremely long-running simulations. The cause is often a jagged corner near a stairway or some other awkward geometry. It is very helpful for us to see models that cause problems like this because we can often update the simulator to prevent similar problems in the future.

You can check on the results by clicking the Results button while the simulation is running. That should give you a very good idea of what is going on.

Can you post your PTH file or email it to support@thunderheadeng.com ?
