That's because the simulation is stopping with errors.

Then results are opening automatically and nothing is there to be seen.

Also, I noticed that you don't have any openings in your mesh boundaries.  That will become a problem too, once you fix the other errors.

Yes, this is a new bug and we are working on a fix.


In November 2020 a new feature was added to address this issue. Please see the 'room rule' option, shown in this section of the Monte Carlo manual.

My guess is that it has something to do with the scale of the model and the scale selected on import.  I used the unit 'hm' and the T-Rex came in at a reasonable size.

Currently agents can sense the FDS output data to calculate FED value and to slow their movement speed based on soot visibility. They do not yet change path or change behavior based on FDS data values.  This is an area of active development for us and we welcome any suggestions on how to best simulate the agents response to fire phenomena.  There is a good talk coming up in our FEMTC 2020 conference that is relevant to this topic.

This looks like a memory error.  I would recommend that you send the Pathfinder file that you are trying to open to so we can dig in a bit deeper and see if this is a bug or an issue with memory on your computer.

Hello, what happens if you increase the Door Choice option for 'Current Room Queue Time' to a weight of 10?  For me it evenly distributes the agents over all 10 doors, because the cost of waiting in a queue at a door is so high.

"FDS sets a kill radius that is 0.5 % of the mass of the MINIMUM_DIAMETER particle. In your case that is about 3.4 um. This is why you are seeing 6 um in Smokeview.

Within the evaporation routine FDS first tries to evaporate the drop using the current time step. It then does some checks to see if the equilibrium condition is overshot or if the local gas temperature changes too much. If this is the case it tries again at half the timestep. This process is repeated until the droplet passes the checks or the timestep drops too much. If the timestep drops too much a warning is written. In your case the warning is saying that even at a very small sub timestep the gas temperature is still seeing large changes."

We are in the process of finishing keyboard shortcuts for Pathfinder, you will be able to map these actions to shortcut keys.
This feature should be available in the next release later this year.
