After summer vacation I'm coming with a new question : I have to attach vent to walls, but I've always the same error : "VENT XX must be attached to soli obstruction".
I don't know how to attach correctly vents to walls. Can you help me?
Thanks a lot for your answer. I understand now the problem, but without your help I would never have thought that it was coming from the mesh. Thanks a lot!
Here in Switzerland the government tells us that for all cases calculated by FDS we have to put a soot yield of 0.04 and a heat of combustion of 25 kJ/g. I find that these entries are very big. Am I right?
Where can I find the heat of combustion and soot yield for an office fire?
Hi there, I have a really big problem with Pyrosim. I created a model from a building with a burner inside it. Until today, the model was perfectly running. But today, when I just wanted to move the burner to put it in another place, the burner is not more working! And worse, I created the same model with the same burner, and it is alos not working. I don't really understand what is going on. Suddenly the burner doesn't work any more. Could you please just help me? I'm totally lost...
I've again a question : in my country you have to give the surfaces where a soot density reachs a certain level (when generating slices) For example my limit concentration of soot in a room is 40 mg/m3. I would like to calculate the surfaces where the concentration is more than that value. Is it possible to do that? Or do I have to do it by hand?
- The first is with the scale on the smokeview view. For example, the scale shows me the maximum soot contentration that I have in my room : 100 mg/m3. My client wants me to change the scale to prove that there is nothing at 120 mg/m3. How can I do that?
- The second thing is the soot yield. I've defined a burner without reaction, and the client wants to know the soot yield. Where can I find it (and change it?).
I think I resolved the problem. Indeed, I didn''t well understand the principle of open mesh boundaries options. I read it in the FDS user guide but I didn''t understand the concept. Could someone please help me?
Hi everyone, I''ve a problem in setting an open vent at the top of a room (to allow the smoke to go out). When I set the vent (Open surface), the smoke is not going out. I suppose I''ve a problem with the mesh boundaries but I don''t really understand what to do. I''ve just set a normal mesh.
Hello, I''''m new on the forum. I''''m from Switzerland and working on fire modelling for my job.
I''ve a problem. I''ve made a simulation with an exhaust surface at the top of the room. I think there''s a problem because where I run the simulation I can''t see the smoke going through the exhaust surface.
