Thanks a lot Dave.

Your help has been very useful.
The key was in the mount of oxygen.

Thanks again, have a good day!.

PyroSim / HRR curve definition
« on: September 27, 2014, 10:05:54 pm »
Excuse me,

I want to define the HRR curve like I show in the figure, but i don't know how can I do it in Pyrosim.  :(
I know that i must define the HRRPUA, and I select rump-up time: t^2, and define a time, but, What is the meaning of this time? How know I Which is the duration that the program considered to the constant part? When is it start?.

PyroSim / Check the results
« on: August 22, 2014, 08:10:52 pm »
Hello.. Excuse me

How can I check the results of my model? Are there typical curves to check my results obtained in a building?  ???
What is the typical temperature acquired on walls during a fire?
Is it normal increase and decrease temperature on walls during a fire? What cause this effect?.  :-\

(The model is about an academic building)

Any comment will be useful. Thanks!  :D

Thanks for your help. When i run the definity model of my building, I would like you check my results, if you can. Thanks a lot.

:) Hi Dave, How are you? Sorry For This delayed answer.
Well my computer resources are Core I5 (4 core), 6GB Ram.

:/ Is it enough?  :-[
Thanks for your recommendations.  :D

PyroSim / Size Grid ..
« on: July 26, 2014, 08:55:47 pm »

I made a model in pyrosim of an academic building, but i don't know How set the grid dimensions compared to the size of the building, to represent a real situation.   ???

My idea is represent as the smoke out of the building through open doors and windows. I thought that this was posible to making the grid bigger than the building.

So, What size i make my grid? or is there a simpler way?  ???

Any recommendations will be useful.  ;)

Thanks Dave. Your help has been very useful  ;).

Thanks for your answer.

I understand what did you say to me, but my doubt is about how relate the units between this two parameters, fuel load (MJ) and HRR (kW/m2), I know that 1J=1W/s, but I don't know what is the direct relation to enter on the program (having only the fuel load).

PyroSim / HRR curve and Fuel Load

Hello, :D

I made a model in pyrosim of an academic building (class, offices, meeting rooms).
I can calculate the entire fuel load per room (MJ), How can I relate the fuel load to the HRR max (FDS input)?, or is it possible define the fuel load direct?. ???

Any recommendation for how modeling the fire in this building will be welcome.

Thanks.   ;)

Thank you very much for all your help. I will review what did you say.

Best regards.

I attached the .psm file. Thanks for your help.

It is very strange, the slice is not within a floor. I attached a picture of what happens to me, I dont know why i can't to see the temperature inside, maybe I defined wrong something (?).

Thanks a lot for your answer, was very useful ;) .

I have other doubt,
I made multiple slice to see the temperature (plane z), but when I select it, it not shows me the temperature inside the building, only in the outside the building. What do i do to see the temperature inside the building using slice?.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks again.

Best regards.

Maybe you can change the numerical method from LES to DNS.

Good luck  :)!

PyroSim / Re: simulation is running very slow
« on: June 22, 2014, 10:08:33 pm »
It is normal to take a few days to run a model, if you need to get the results faster, you resizes the mesh, making it bigger, because it reduces the time considerably.

Regards.  :)

Es normal que se demore algunos días en correr un modelo, si necesitas obtener los resultados más rápidamente, modifica el mesh, haciéndolo mas grande, ya que disminuye el tiempo considerablemente.

Saludos  :).
