Title: How to see when fire spread to new objects?
Post by: dulfen on June 12, 2020, 12:01:49 pm
Hey!

I'm trying to model fire spread between cars in a car park, but can't figure out how I can monitor when the fire spread to other cars. I've made a layered surface, added the material and thickness in material layers, put an ignition temperature, HRRPUA and ramp-up time. Made a vent on top of each car and put the previously mentioned surface in the vent properties. The beginning fire is of course a burner surface. How can I see exactly when the fire spread to other cars? I need information on the time when the fire spread to car 2, 3, 4 etc.

I suggest a boundary file of burning rate. To make it as clear as possible, in the &MISC line set BNDF_DEFAULT=.FALSE.. (This turns off the display for everything that is not specifically tagged.) Then for each of your car obstructions, use the Advanced feature to set BNDF_OBST=.TRUE. (This tags specific OBSTs to display the burning rate.)

If the OBSTs ignite, then it will be displayed on a cell by cell basis.
