Title: Importing atmospheric tank geometry in PyroSim to run in FDS

Hello,
I am doing a project which is based on domino effect analysis of fire on atmospheric tanks. I have made a CAD geometry and imported in the PyroSim. fire on one tank will give heat flux traveling to other tanks. I just want to know will FDS give reliable results with such geometry in PyroSim. How will FDS generate mesh for such circular geometry?

Asher,

FDS uses rectilinear grids in it's calculations. When using rounded geometry, it is important to verify that PyroSim successfully rasterizes the tank into obstructions free of gaps. See the section about Angled Geometry in the PyroSim User's Guide to learn more about how you can test that proper grid blocks have been created by PyroSim before running your model.
